Race Date - May 05, 2001

The opening round of the Auto Value Super Sprints greeted us on our visit to Auto City Speedway. Also running were the late models, thunder trucks, and factory stocks, who began their season last week. The modifieds had the night off. With six events at Auto City, some consider this the unofficial home track of the Super Sprints.

Another beautiful spring evening greeted the competitors, factory stocks and thunder trucks on the short track, late models and sprint cars on the big track. The engines were loving the cool air, cranking out maximum horsepower. Just the ticket for a full night of racing.

The pits are anything but. With concrete slabs for almost every race car and wide drives, crews have plenty of room to work. If the car count and size of the crowd are any indication, the pits aren't all this track has going for it. Check it out!

A great crowd showed up for the second event of the season.

Factory stocks working through turns 3&4.

The factory stocks trading paint, rubber, and probably a few parts.

You have to have faith in your fellow driver to do this in the late models.
